Rice with Milk

Introduction:

Rice with milk (Rice pudding) or as it is called in Egypt, Ruzz Be Laban, is a famous Egyptian dessert that everyone loves. It is made with long grain rice and milk, and sometimes you can add nuts and cinnamon if you would prefer.

Rice with Milk Recipe:

Ingredients:

-          ½ cup rice

-          2 cups milk

-          Vanilla

-          3 cups water

-          4 tbsp sugar

-          1 tsp nuts and cinnamon for each serving bowl. (Optional)

Directions:

1-      Wash rice then add the water to it. Leave it for half an hour then put it over low heat and leave it cook. Stir constantly until the rice is well done.

2-      Add milk and sugar and mix with a wooden spoon. Let it boil for 5 minutes.

3-      Take it off the heat and add vanilla. Place it in small serving bowls and wait until it cools down.

4-      Add 1 tsp nuts and cinnamon on top of each serving bowl. (Optional)

5-      Place it in the refrigerator for an hour. Served cold.

  • Please note that there are 2 kinds of Rice with milk recipes; one is Plain Rice with Milk and the other is Rice with Milk with nuts. So you can make the Rice with Milk dish without adding nuts if you would prefer, depending on your taste.
